Unusual large antique silver mirror
London 1891
€799
Incredibly large Victorian sterling silver and ebonised oak easel mirror with the original bevelled glass. The hand-chased silver was made by the very good silversmith James Vickery of Bond Street/Regent Street, London. Not only is the silver very good quality the frame is equally good and well-made as the wooden easel fits flush into the back when hung on a wall and there are two original hooks for this purpose. The mirror looks fabulous on a table, using the easel function. Condition of the silver and glass is perfect. While there is no damage to the wooden frame there is the odd spot where you can see that the wood has been ebonised, but this hardly notices as any marks are out of sight and at the back.
