Very large silver wager/marriage cup made by Berthold Mueller in Nuremberg circa 1880, imported into England with an import mark for sterling silver standard for 1907. It is unusually large, and in good condition,
These cups were traditionally given as marriage or wager cups. The bridegroom would drink the contents of the larger cup and then the bride would drink the smaller cupful – both without any spills! These cups would frequently be used for gaming.
